Overview of progress and achievements
Brazil’s football success across various areas of the game over a long period is legendary the world over. Now, and building on the success of hosting the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games, Brazil are set to create another milestone when they become the first CONMEBOL nation to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ in 2027. Women's football in South America has made tremendous progress in the last few years with Brazil at the vanguard. They have won eight of the nine Copa América Femenina. The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ provides a unique opportunity to further quicken progress both in the host nation and across the continent. Brazil have won more FIFA World Cup™ titles than anyone else – five, their most recent in 2002 – and are prolific winners are all levels of the game. Off the field, FIFA Forward-funding is aiding a major project with civil works for the modernisation of the CBF headquarters underway. Other recent funding from the world governing body includes support to organise state-based youth women's competitions at U-15 & U-17 as Brazil seek to develop the players of tomorrow.
